A package delivered to a local car dealership contained a surprise that resulted in a handoff to the sheriff.

Lt. Robert Lewis from the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station said that the manager of Valencia Jeep Eagle on Creekside Road called for deputies after he opened a package delivered to the dealership, but addressed to a previous tenant of the property.

The package contained a kilo of marijuana.

“He thought it would be a good idea to turn in something that didn’t belong to them,” Lewis said.
