Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor announced Thursday their lineup for the 2014 season. The Thrill Capital of the World will add excitement to both Batman: The Ride and popular wooden coaster, Colossus, by running them backwards for a limited time only.

Batman: The Ride celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2014 with a 105-foot lift and 50 mph turns that will now take riders by surprise as they experience the new backwards motion. Colossus or “woodie,” celebrated its 35th anniversary in June and features drops of more than 100 feet and 14 hills with a triple threat to end the wooden experience.

“We are excited to be able to offer such an array of new experiences for our guests throughout the 2014 season,” said Magic Mountain President Bonnie Rabjohn.

The park hopes to bring “thrills for all seasons and thrills for all ages,” especially with the rejuvenated children’s area–Bug’s Bunny World. Next year kids will experience a brand new pint-sized coaster. Carrot Club will also feature a brand new family friendly show.

The summer water park will also be introducing two new slides for guests to enjoy. Bonzai Pipelines will feature two body slides that sit side-by-side and

are launched by a vertical capsule system. They will experience a free fall from the top going 40 mph down the slide.

“Next season’s lineup is one of our most comprehensive packages ever, as we truly offer something for every member of the family, from ultimate thrill-seekers to our youngest guests,” said Six Flags Chairman and President Jim Reid-Anderson. “Six Flags is going bigger each year as we create fun, thrilling and lasting memories for our guests.”

Additional water park changes include dive-in movies that will be shown in the Forgotten Sea Wave Pool. New dining options and continued hours are planned for the new season.

Six Flag’s popular Halloween event, Fright Fest, will become the largest expansion in the park’s history with scarier zones, ghouls, zombies and haunted mazes.

2014 season passes and dining season passes are available now. They provide unlimited visits for the rest of the 2013 season, including Fright Fest. Season passes can be purchased through the annual membership program.
