A new exhibit featuring art by members of the Santa Clarita Artists Association has opened at Tesoro Adobe Historical Park. The art will be on display through March 5, with a free public reception on Feb. 6 from 12-5 pm.
On that day, artists and volunteers will conduct tours of the museum which houses collectibles from the 1930s and appetizers will be served. The Tesoro Adobe is set in beautiful surrounding of native cacti, succulents and desert flowers.
Face painting will be a key attraction for children at the reception and are a good way to expose children to the fun of art.
The Santa Clarita Artists’ Association is constantly trying to find new ways to expand and broaden the community’s view of art in the SCV.
“Changing exhibits are designed to do just that with art for every taste and pocketbook,” says Laurie Morgan, the group’s outgoing president.
In addition, a People’s Choice award will be awarded to one deserving art piece.
Tesoro Adobe Historical Park address is 29350 Avenida Rancho Tesoro, off Copper Hill Drive, just west of McBean Parkway. For information about the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association, please see: http://www.santaclaritaartists.org/.
