Santa Clarita is seen as the “Biggest Little Small Town” in the LA area but do you really know your way around? That’s the nagging question that has led to the creation of the SCV Moms Blog, online now.

The SCV Moms Blog community was developed to help moms connect with each other and express their passions. Members share opinions about the valley, including the services, businesses and the people it’s made up of.

Started by parenting/lifestyle blogger and former TV executive, Jackie Morgan MacDougall, the community is the first step in the SCV Moms Blog plan.

“The moms in Santa Clarita are so powerful, so connected. It’s about time we gave them a voice,” she said. “How many times have you heard about something happening only to find out you missed it? This is our way of sticking together, sharing experiences, opinions and great finds.”

MacDougall’s mission is to grow the community and expand its voice on local media outlets like KHTS AM-1220, as well as other Santa Clarita-based publications and T.V. programs.

“I want the SCV Moms Blog to be like Good Housekeeping. If we give a local business, organization or event our seal of approval, people trust it. It helps the consumer, the business – the entire community.”

Andrea Pohlot spent several years as a marketing executive before moving to the SCV to raise a family. Now she juggles her role as mom and founder of a popular blog in fashion design.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to help small businesses drive in local traffic and generate enthusiasm about their involvement in our community.

But MacDougall and Pohlot don’t do it alone. Joined by experts in food, fitness, healthcare, finance and more, the SCV Moms Blog scours the valley for the good, bad and (sometimes) ugly. From eats to entertainment, education to the economy, the team is dedicated to finding what people want – “always keeping it honest and real.”
