City/Sheriff’s Business Alliance Program to Begin

ImageThis month, the City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station launched the City of Santa Clarita Business Alliance program.

Coordinated through the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station and its Business Relations Office, the new City of Santa Clarita Sheriff's Business Alliance program will utilize department personnel and station volunteers to assist in maintaining a database, outreach to our business community, sending out frequent communications, and facilitating the various business training programs.

“Our goal is to provide our City-based businesses with a high level of law enforcement support, including programs and services that prevent crime and help keep our business districts safe,” commented Mayor Marsha McLean.

Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Sergeant, A.J. Rotella will serve as the City’s Business Relations liaison.

Training programs will include: auto theft prevention; personal safety awareness; drug awareness; drugs in the workplace; violence in the workplace; robbery prevention; bank robbery training; fraud prevention; loss prevention; and commercial security surveys.

“Sgt. Rotella brings a broad range of experience to the job and has great ideas for the City of Santa Clarita Sheriff's Business Alliance program. His dedication and enthusiasm compliment his commitment to the safety of this City,” commented Captain La Berge.

"After a recent "ride-along" with Sgt. Rotella and seeing first hand how the Sheriff's Department interacts with the business community in their efforts to provide world-class police service, I am convinced that a program like the Business Alliance is needed in a rapidly growing community like Santa Clarita,” commented Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce President Larry Mankin.
