New Symphony Forming In SCV

Auditions to be held this summer

A new community orchestra is currently in the planning stages, with hopes of starting rehearsals this fall.

Under the direction of Jim Domine, who also conducts the Valley Symphony Orchestra, the group will be comprised of 50 to 60 musicians.

The first season will feature at least two performances, one around the December holidays and another in the spring. They will feature a variety of some of the greatest music in the symphonic repertoire, along with fine soloists.

Rehearsals will be held weekly on Thursday evenings at the Senior Center on Market Street.

Musicians interested in becoming part of this organization should contact Mimi Hiller at (661) 296-4455 to schedule an audition in late summer.
