New Talk Show Has Both Sides Paying Attention

messinaAs you listened to KHTS this past Monday, (and if you weren’t you should have been), you may have heard a different kind of talk show in the 1 o’clock hour.

This new show was a pilot hosted by Santa Clarita’s Joe Messina, and instead of taking one side of a political idea, Messina brought in both sides.

His show, titled “The Right Side,” featured a Republican, Scott Wilk, and a Democrat, Bruce McFarland, squaring off on what they perceived their party to be.

“All I asked of them was don’t bash the other side, I want to know what you believe what you believe and why your willing to stand strong on something you believe,” said Messina.

The show will continue to bring both sides of an issue in future shows, whether it be political parties, or you’re ideology.

The show is set to take on bigger issues on its first official run on July 12, Messina and his guests will talk about freedom and the reasons they are important.

In future shows he hope to battle tough issues outside the political spectrum, like religions and the different ways they interact with other religions, and ethnicity and why there are stigmas on certain races.

“It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, and I mean that sincerely,” said Messina.  “Its going to be raw truth, raw conversation, and I don’t mean raunchy.  There will be none of the political correctness, and no belligerence.”

Catch the first official show July 12, at 1p.m. on AM1220 KHTS.
