LA County Supervisor Antonovich orders the installation of 3-way traffic signals.
To enhance traffic safety and mobility in the Santa Clarita Valley, the Department of Public Works will install 3 -way traffic signals at the northerly and southerly intersections of Sagecrest Circle and the Old Road in theunincorporated community of Sunset Pointe.
Bordered by open space on the north, west, and south, Sunset Pointe residents utilizethe North and South openings of Sagecrest Circle at the Old Road as their sole means of ingress and egress.
The main north-south arterial serving residents and businesses west of the Interstate 5 Freeway, the Old Road experiences high traffic volumes in the peak commuter hours or when used as an alternative to Interstate 5. This creates significant delays for Sunset Pointe residents as they make left or right turns entering or exiting their community onto the Old Road .

In addition to the installation of two traffic signals, the Sunset Pointe community will also be seeing “No Stopping” signs installed on both sides of The Old Road between Pico Canyon Road and Calgrove Boulevard . The “No Stopping” signs will allow for greater visibility for drivers when exiting streets along The Old Road.
“The new traffic signals and no stopping signs will significantly reduce these delays and enhance traffic safety and mobility for our Sunset Pointe residents,” said Supervisor Antonovich. The Department of Public Works will report back to the Board of Supervisors within 30 days with a schedule for installation and activation of the new signals and signs.
