Santa Clarita residents interested in learning how to start a small business will be able to receive free advice at a new client orientation at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The orientation will give insight into starting and running a successful small business. Attendees will also learn about what the Small Business SBDC has to offer and how they can assist entrepreneurs in establishing or maintaining a small business through one-on-one consultation and training seminars.

The new client orientation will take place Friday, January 6 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the University Center at the College of the Canyons, Room 222, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
There is a $2 parking fee.
A hands-on workshop “How to Successfully Start Your New Business” will be held the following week. This follow up to the new client orientation will help entrepreneurs learn to prepare a written plan, learn the best way to structure a business, identify and focus on key marketing, sales, and financial issues, and how to bring it all together.
The How to Successfully Start Your New Business workshop will take place Tuesday, January 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the University Center at the College of the Canyons, Room 222, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
The workshop is $30 with an additional $2 parking fee.
The Small Business Development Center is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, College of the Canyons, & local corporate & municipal partners.
