Faith Community Church in Newhall continues a favorite community Christmas tradition by hosting its 6th Annual “Festividad for Christ” celebration on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Festividad” will be held at the church on Meadowridge Drive, just off Newhall Avenue.
A carne asada lunch will be served, and church members will distribute wrapped gifts for children up to 13 years old. Free frozen turkeys will be available, too. For the past several weeks, the church has been collecting presents for boys and girls ages 0-3, 4-7 and 8-13, and raising money to purchase the popular turkeys.

“Our church strives to be a good neighbor, and this is a great way for us to share the love of Christ in a very practical way with those in our immediate community,” Senior Pastor Steve Jackson said. “The event is free and we invite those who live near the church in Newhall to join us for fun and fellowship.”
“Festividad” typically attracts up to 1,000 people, and organizers are expecting at least that many participants this year.
“With the economy being what it is, there are so many people who wouldn’t be celebrating Christmas without ‘Festividad,'” said David Gabriel, who is organizing efforts for the event. “We’re thankful we can bring some joy and hope at a time when our neighbors need it most.”
