Newhall Creek Jeopardizes Residents

The swelling Newhall Creek, near the Old Road and Interstate 5 Freeway in the Newhall Pass, threatens to go through a nearby retaining wall, potentially flooding residents in the Sierra Village apartment complex further downstream. On the air live on AM-1220 KHTS Saturday afternoon, Santa Clarita City Manager Ken Pulskamp told listeners that crews are mobilizing heavy equipment to widen the creek, remove the silt that has been building up, and protect the residents of the apartment complex. KHTS will continue to monitor this story and provide you with updates as news breaks.
