The gathering was the second in a series of Extreme Neighborhood Makeovers, where city staff goes in to a blighted area and offers the residents help and advice, often at a discounted price.

Almost 200 people turned out to visit with the different agencies set up under tents lining Market Street. The sheriff’s tent, where Deputy Joe Trejo was sitting with Community Relations Sgt. Gregg Lewison, was a popular stop, especially for Spanish-speaking residents. Trejo maintains a regular office in the nearby Community Center.
