A man who was hit by Dodge Ram while crossing the street in Saugus on Monday has died, said Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

William Leng, 59, of Newhall, died at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital on Tuesday morning, Hershey said.

Leng was struck by a truck driven by a woman, whose identity has not been released by Sheriff’s Station officials, around 8:45 a.m., according to Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The vehicle-pedestrian collision took place near the intersection of Via Princessa Road and Oak Ridge Drive in Saugus, according to officials.

Hershey said all fatal collisions are investigated, but no charges have been filed in the incident.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.
