While he is no longer running, his name will still appear on the ballot
[view:node_ad=5]The race for two open seats on the Newhall School District Board of Trustees has lost a candidate.
Dr. Donald Rimac had originally declared himself as a candidate for the November 6th election; however he has now decided to withdraw from the race. Los Angeles County cannot remove his name from the ballot however, and so now a push is on to make the community aware of this situation.
Mr. Rimac issued a statement regarding his withdrawal:
“Due to health and time schedule concerns, which both will interfere with my ability to actively campaign for the Board of Trustees election of November 6, 2007, for the Newhall School District, I hereby withdraw my name from consideration for the position of Trustee of the Newhall School District.
This is a difficult decision for me, but I must make it to be fair to the Newhall School District Community and to myself.
Due to established rules and regulations, it is beyond the deadline to have my name withdrawn from the Los Angeles County official election ballot. My name will appear on the ballot, however, I am withdrawing from any election campaign activities for this office based on my decision as above.”
