Fitness takes center stage as school kids challenge themselves.
[view:node_ad=5]Bright and early Saturday morning, Newhall School District students and parents met up at Valencia Valley elementary school for the third annual run for fitness.

A course was set up that involved running and exercise stations designed to challenge the kids and motivate them to be active on a regular basis.

Kindergarteners had a smaller course, however, the other grades all ran on the same course. 5th and 6th graders ran the course twice.  

Mayor Pro Tem Frank Ferry was also at the event, as he spoke to the children and introduced four high school athletes that were on hand to help the runners throughout the course. The student athletes included Hart Running Back Delano Howell, Hart girls basketball star Megan Ford, Hart Kicker/Golfer Johnny Macarthur, and Hart soccer standout Sarina Coutin.
