An early morning collision led to a drunken driving arrest Friday morning in Newhall after a woman crashed and then failed a field sobriety test in Newhall.

Shaunna Feeney, 34, of Newhall, was arrested on a DUI charge by Traffic Unit deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Fire Department officials phoned the incident into Sheriff’s Station officials at 7:07 a.m., said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We had a report that vehicles were blocking traffic as I drove to the scene,” Dubin said. “The driver appeared intoxicated, and a preliminary alcohol-screening device revealed that she was over the legal limit.”
Feeney was driving eastbound on Newhall Avenue when she collided with a driver who was exiting a Chevron station near Sierra Highway.
“We encourage people to call 911 if they suspect someone might be drunk driving no matter what time of day it is,” Dubin said. “Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are working around the clock with the community we serve to keep our roads safe.”
Feeney was book at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Friday morning and being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
She is due in court May 6.
