Newhall resident Mirtha Salgado, 42, went out shopping
Friday evening and has not been seen since.

According to Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s
Station, Salgado’s daughter found her mother’s purse and wallet at the mother’s
house Sunday night and called 911.

Salgado is described as a female Hispanic, 4 feet 11 inches
in height, weighing 135 pounds, with brown eyes and short, curly black hair.

The family reported that she had no history of mental
illness, nor have there been any incidents of domestic violence.

It is not known where Salgado intended to shop. Detectives from
the sheriff’s Missing Persons division, which is part of the Homicide Bureau, are
looking into the case, although no foul play is suspected at this time.

Anyone with information about Salgado’s whereabouts is asked
to call the Santa Clarita station at 255-1121.
