On March 28th, 2011, the Assistance League of Santa Clarita was featured on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight, which is hosted by Janice Murray.
The Non-Profit Spotlight airs every Monday at 10AM on AM-1220.
The Assistance League has been helping families in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1989. This nonprofit service organization of volunteers is committed to identifying and serving the needs of the Santa Clarita Valley through philanthropic projects developed and administered by its members. Through programs such as Operation School Bell, Kids on the Block and the Teddy Bear Patrol, the league acts as a friend to men, women and children in need of care, guidance and assistance, emotionally, materially and physically.
They act as a friend at any and all times to men, women and children in need of care, guidance and assistance-emotionally, materially and physically. They seek to fulfill this mission in their community by providing clothing, education and emotional support to families, the elderly and the disabled.
The Footsteps 5k Walk Run/Walk will be held on Sunday April 10,2011 at Newhall Park. The Footsteps 5K is a family style event starting in Newhall Park and winding its way down the South Fork trail and back. All proceeds from this race go to benefit the Operations School Bell Program which provides clothing, shoes, and health kits to over 1,100 children a year in the Santa Clarita Valley.
We want to thank Jackie Hamby and Jeannie Carpenter for stopping by our Community Resource Kiosk to get the word out about the Assistance League of Santa Clarita.
