The week of November 1, 2010, Jim Ventress, Anna Ott, Karen Stevens, and Gary Condie along with Janice Murray promoted the 2010 Festival of trees on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight sponsored by Castaic Lake Water Agency.
Now in its 42th Year, Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley continues to be a vital resource for our youth. Formed by a group of community leaders who saw a need for a place where kids could go for affordable high-end recreation programs, the organization has come a long way since, servicing the after-school needs of kids and teens at club locations in Newhall at Newhall Park and the facility in Canyon Country, on the campus of Sierra Vista Junior High School. There is also a smaller satellite club in Val Verde.
The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita will have thier 8th Annual Festival of Trees on November 18-21 at 21119 Centre Pointe Parkway. This year will is a 4-day event and will also feature a Jingle Jam teen dance.
The Festival of Trees is a fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley. A visit to the Festival is a great way to kick-off the holiday season. Not only can you view the many beautiful and elaborately decorated trees which are available for purchase, but you can also get a jump on your holiday gift shopping in the boutique. Large trees range in height from six to nine feet and many come with gifts including furniture, event tickets, wine, jewelry and more. You can also purchase small tabletop trees, holiday wreaths, centerpieces and charming one-of-a-kind gingerbread houses.
There is something for everyone at the Festival. Children will find a variety of fun crafts and activities in the Children’s Corner. Singers, musicians, dancers and more will be featured on the stage throughout the Festival, and strolling magicians will be on hand to dazzle the crowd with some amazing tricks.
KHTS thanks Jim Ventress, Anna Ott, Karen Stevens, and Gary Condie for spending time on the Non-Profit Spotlight.
