On May 21, 2007 The KHTS Community Resource Station was pleased to welcome back the Boys & Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley. Kathy Keysor Smith and Bob Kellar were guests on the KHTS Non Profit Spotlight Show, hosted by Janice Murray and sponsored by Valencia Acura .

Kathy and Bob are the Auction Co-Chairs of this year’s annual Benefit Auction and Dinner. ‘Grease Is The Word’ happens Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Mann BioMedical Park located at 25104 Rye Canyon Loop in Santa Clarita. The doors open at 5 PM. Proceeds from this event will fund after-school programs for 3,500 local kids.

Since 1968, the Boys and Girls club of Santa Clarita has continued to be a vital resource for our Santa Clarita youth. Formed by a group of community leaders who saw a need for a place where kids could go for affordable high-end recreation programs, the organization has come a long way since, servicing local kids and teens at club locations in Newhall, at Newhall Park and in Canyon Country, on the campus of Sierra Vista Junior High School. There is also a smaller satellite club in Val Verde.

The Boys & Girls Club of SCV Foundation was formed in July 2002 to ensure the financial stability and expansion of the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley. The Foundation Board is currently composed of 75 community leaders.
 
The Foundation produces three major special events to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of SCV. A huge benefit auction and dinner is held annually in June, the Keyes Lexus Club Classic golf tournament is played at Valencia Country Club in August and the extremely popular Festival of Trees marks the beginning of the holiday season in late November.
