Bridges to Ability – March 4, 2013

On March 4, 2013 Janice Murray, host of the Non-Profit Spotlight Show, sat down with Rob Muir from Bridges to Ability. Bridges to Ability improves the lives of teens and adults with disabilities through quality vocational, educational, social, and recreational programs. The foundation provides a “Bridge” to the continuity in much needed activities and services, to keep their clients stimulated, active and social, and to help give some respite to families.

Rob Muir, co-founder of Valencia SNAP (Special Needs & Peers), also coaches an ice hockey team for Bridges to Ability and has had some success. The hockey team has impressed the community and will host their first tournament May 31 – June 2, 2013. The Valencia SNAP Flyers/Bridges to Ability Foundation Hockey program provides teens and adults with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a competitive, amateur-level ice hockey club. The program welcomes all athletes with disabilities, who wish to expand their knowledge and skills of this team sport through the support of experienced coaches and skilled peers.
