On October 11, 2010 we were pleased to welcome back our friends from the Child & Family Center to the KHTS Community Resource Station.

The KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight is hosted by Janice Murray can be heard Mondays at 10am and is sponsored by Castaic Lake Water Agency.

Celebrating 33 Years, the Child and Family Center, is the only non-profit community mental health center in the Santa Clarita Valley. They continue to provide mental health, behavioral and educational services to children, adults and families living in Santa Clarita. These services include early intervention, school based and outpatient counseling, drug and alcohol treatment and group home services. Child & Family Center also believes in involving the family in the entire process – which promotes a healthy home environment for all.

Child & Family Center is pleased to present the 8th annual Kid Expo, on Sunday October 17, 2010 from 11am to 4pm at Golden Valley High School. Join thousands of children and families to see What’s Cool for Kids in Santa Clarita. Over 100 exhibits of local businesses offering products or services for children will be on display.

Admission for Kids is FREE, and adults are just $3. Proceeds will benefit the Child & Family Center, which provides mental health services for children suffering from emotional or behavioral problems.

Kid Expo features exhibitors from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley showcasing products and services for children. From sports to karate, dance to art, gymnastics to books and tutors, kids and parents discovered the many local events and businesses available for children throughout the SCV. Fun games, arts and crafts, reading and storytelling, art, music, sports, and entertainment and special appearances by cartoon characters make the day fun for the entire family!
