On January 3, 2011, the Placerita Canyon Nature Center was featured on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight. Ron Kraus dropped by the KHTS Community Resource Station and spoke on-air with host Janice Murray.

The Non-Profit Spotlight airs every Monday at 10AM on AM-1220 KHTS.

The Placerita Canyon Nature Center is non-profit organization. This natural area is maintained by The County of Los Angeles, Department of Parks & Recreation.Their museum features exhibits on the natural history of southern California, and a small collection of live animals. You will also discover a network of hiking trails with special guided hikes available including night hikes during the summer months.

The park and nature center not only serves to conserve a slice of the wild environment but is also dedicated to educate the public and help to foster a deeper understanding of our local undisturbed flora and fauna through wild animal shows, nature hikes and educational trails.
