Fire growth has been stopped, containment at 80%.
A fire broke out in the National Angeles Forest Sunday afternoon and has since burned 2,100 acres as of 12:00pm Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
The exact fire location is 6 miles southwest of Acton, and just north of the Santa Clara Divide road.
[view:node_ad=5] UPDATE: On Thursday, fire crews issued their final update. The fire's growth has been stopped and containment numbers stand at 80%. Full containment is expected by Friday September 7th. All evacuations have been lifted.
Tippi Hedren's Shambala Preserve was at one point, threatened by the fire. An evacuation of the wildlife reserve would be a complicated issue due to the rare types of animals at the reserve, such as lions and tigers. Veterinarians were sought to help if an evacuation was needed.
