American Legion Post 507, SCVTV and Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) will host an election preview, “Meet Your Ballot 2012,” at Post 507′s headquarters in Newhall on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Free and open to the public, the event is designed to offer Santa Clarita Valley voters an opportunity to better understand the candidates and propositions on the November ballot.

The event will include a formal presentation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a voter resource booth will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Candidates and proposition representatives will participate in a 90-minute program that will be hosted and broadcast by SCVTV.

“Meet Your Ballot 2012″ is presented by Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP), a non-profit network of more than 325 preschool sites. The organization was established to fund a free or low-cost, high-quality preschool education to the children of Los Angeles County in order to better prepare 4-year-olds to succeed in school. LAUP has raised the level of quality preschool programs throughout the county by advancing teacher training, enriching curricula and a safe and nurturing environment for more than 60,000 preschoolers since 2005. LAUP is funded in part by First 5 LA.
