There is no bigger name in theatrical comedies than Neil Simon and the Canyon Theatre Guild is bringing his Tony award winning hit, The Odd Couple, to their playhouse stage in Old Town Newhall for 5 weekends opening July 31st. The Odd Couple is timeless in its characterizations and hilarious in its situations. If you like laugh out loud comedy there is no better way to spend a couple of hours.
Spawning a movie and TV show, plus… numerous revivals and variations, The Odd Couple brings together a mismatched pair of roommates – Oscar Madison (Jeff Johnson) and Felix Ungar (KHTS’s own Jason Endicott) – as they work on life after divorce.
Felix is a compulsive neat freak and Oscar is anything but with his penchant for drinking, gambling and leaving his things wherever they land. Felix has just been thrown out by his wife of 12 years and winds up living with his best friend who has had a bit more time to adjust to the divorced life.

Even though they are now sharing an 8-room apartment, they are driving each other crazy with their differences and have to try to figure out how to get along in this new “relationship.”
Rounding out the oddball characters are their poker buddies Murray (Michael Keane), Vinnie (Warren Steinman), Speed (Rod Oden) and Roy (Darel Roberts) who, along with the British upstairs neighbors the Pigeon Sisters (Janette LaBella and Andi Rhoads), provide plenty of opportunities for misunderstandings arguments and mayhem.
The Odd Couple opens at 8 p.m. Saturday, with 8 p.m. performances Saturdays through August 28 and 8 p.m. Friday performances on August 20 and 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday matinees through August 29.
