The case was handed over to L.A. County prosecutors earlier this month. Today, prosecutors filed four felony charges against the officer.

Prosecuters said Stenroos faces charges that include preparing false evidence, filing a false insurance claim, perjury, and filing a false police report. Stenroos has also been charged with a misdemeanor of falsely reporting an emergency.
If convicted on all counts, Stenroos could face a maximum sentence of five years in state prison.
