City of Santa Clarita staff will host a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. at the corner of 5th and Main St. Event parking will be available on 6th and Main St.
The city broke ground on the roundabout July 23 and has since tried to settle on an art piece for the center of the traffic circle.
The Santa Clarita Arts Commission narrowed the art submissions down to two finalists, which were later scrapped by the city council after residents voiced their disapproval.
A subsepquent online survey, in which residents said they preferred the city to do nothing with the roundabout, prompted city staff to put in simple landscaping.
The ribbon-cutting is free and open to the public, but anyone planning to attend is asking to RSVP to Corrina Knudson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
