As part of the effort to transform Old Town Newhall into an exciting urban village, the city is adding enhanced landscaping and streetscaping, along with a full repaving of Main Street.  This project is part of the Old Town Newhall Specific Plan, which will hopes to add 1,092 residential units as well as one million square feet of commercial space to the historic area.

On Monday, the northbound lanes of Main Street, which were under construction, were re-opened from 5th street to Lyons Avenue.  Now, the southbound lanes are closed for the renovation.  Traffic will be diverted to Market Street.

The southbound lanes will be closed for several weeks.
