Incumbent Hart District Board Member Announces candidacy.
Incumbent Hart District Governing Board member Paul Strickland has announced that he will run for reelection in November.
Strickland made the announcement on his KHTS afternoon talk show Thursday Matinee.
“I believe that it’s important that someone be on that board that has experience and understands the needs of the district,” he said.
Strickland has been on the board for eight years, and prior to that he sat on the board for the Sulphur Springs School District.
The announcement comes shortly after Newhall School District board member Bob Jensen announced his intent to run.
In addition to Jenson, Strickland will be running against Suzan Solomon, another Newhall School District board member, and local businessman Joe Messina who announced their intent to run earlier this year.
According to Strickland there are three incumbents that are up for election this year and two have decided not to run at all.
The candidates have until August 7 to file their candidacy with the County Clerk.
