City
Planning Commission to Discuss Draft Plan Circulation Element

[view:node_ad=5]At the October 21, 2008, Planning Commission
Study Session, City staff will present the Draft Circulation Element from the
Joint Valleywide General Plan, One Valley One Vision (OVOV).  This presentation marks the fourth of five
Planning Commission Study Sessions this calendar year dedicated to continuing
public participation and leading discussions on the draft elements of
OVOV.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Century Room,
located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard,
first floor.  The draft circulation
element includes various constraints and opportunities for improving roadways,
healthy streets for ‘walkable communities,’ fundamental concepts for
circulation planning and non-motorized travel modes, among other issues.

Senior Planner and OVOV project
manager Jason Smisko said, “The purpose of the Draft Circulation Element is to
identify and promote a variety of techniques for improving mobility and
developing alternative travel modes to increase the efficiency and capacity of
this Valley’s roadway systems.”

The Draft Circulation Element can
be found online on the City’s website at www.santa-clarita.com/vgp.  County staff members from the OVOV team along
with project consultants will be in attendance.
