Readers will have a chance to hear Yangsze Choo speak about her novel and meet her, as well as have her sign a copy of the book.
“When you connect with a book, it’s such a great experience meeting the author,” said Robin Hoklotubbe, Santa Clarita Public Library Project manager.
Recognized by Oprah.com as “Book of the Week,” this story has captivated readers who join Choo’s heroine on a journey through the afterlife, complete with an adventure and unexpected romance.
Sponsored by the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library, Choo will speak about her highly acclaimed novel, “The Ghost Bride.”
Light refreshments will be served and copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
The Ghost Bride begins as a historical novel but takes an unexpected turn into a fantastical, ghost-and-murder mystery. What makes all this work is the sumptuous world of Chinese émigré culture and the love story that flows under it all.
“The Library’s author events are designed to connect readers with some of their favorite authors, while also exposing them to up and coming novelists making headlines across the country” added Hoklotubbe.
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is an active group of Santa Clarita residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library. All of the proceeds from fundraising events and programs sponsored by the Friends of the Library go towards providing new materials and programming at the Santa Clarita Public Library.
