The City of Santa Clarita is continuing its annual Overlay and Slurry Seal Project by conducting work on the east-bound side of Valencia Boulevard.

This phase of the project, which started on Monday, will take place from the I-5 freeway to McBean Parkway, and is scheduled to be completed on September 22.

The city is conducting the work at night to try and lessen the impact on traffic.

The purpose of the Overlay and Slurry Seal Project is to provide a smoother ride for traffic, enhance the appearance of roadways and surrounding area, and extend the life of local roadways.

The entire Overlay and Slurry Seal Project started in July and is expected to finish sometime in October.
