PAC Adds New Food, Wine Vendors

New vendors will provide food and wine before shows, at intermissions.

[view:node_ad=5]This season, visitors to the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons (PAC) will have the opportunity to partake in a variety of fine foods, snacks, desserts and wines both before shows and during intermissions — making for more complete and enjoyable theater experiences.

New PAC vendors All Corked Up and LA-Trends Gourmet Catering will debut their menu selections on opening night of the 2008-09 COC Presents season, Friday, Sept. 12, during The Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley concert — and will be featured at more than 15 additional performances throughout the season.

“We’re thrilled with the addition of All Corked Up and LA-Trends Gourmet Catering to the Performing Arts Center lineup,” said Adam Philipson, managing director of the PAC. “The opportunity to arrive early and have a bite to eat or a glass of wine before seeing a world-class performance will definitely make the theater-going experience even more enjoyable for our patrons.”

One of the Santa Clarita Valley’s premier wine merchants, All Corked Up will offer a rotating assortment of high-end wines — including the 2005 Silver Palm Cabernet Sauvignon and 2007 Drylands Sauvignon Blanc — premium specialty beers, and dessert wines and ports designed to complement the evening’s menu selections. All Corked Up representatives will also be on hand to conduct wine education demonstrations.

“At All Corked Up we’re all about education, selection and value, so we’re simply bringing that to the PAC,” said David Schutz, All Corked Up proprietor. “People are always looking to have a quality meal and nice glass of wine at an affordable price. Now they can come to the PAC early and eat, enjoy a drink and see a great show — it’s a total destination.”

LA-Trends Gourmet Catering will offer salads, gourmet sandwiches, snacks such as chips, caramel corn and smoked almonds, and both a fine cheese assortment and selection of tempting desserts — featuring 100 percent biodegradable packaging materials and “spudware” cutlery made primarily from potatoes.

In addition, LA-Trends will team with All Corked Up to provide a pre-show selection of wine and cheese pairings in the PAC patio area, beginning one hour before show time.
During that time patrons will also be able to preview and pre-order items from the evening’s selection of desserts, dessert wines and ports that will be served during intermission. Though items can be purchased before or during intermission, patrons who pre-order will be able to enjoy their selections without the inconvenience of standing in lines.

“We’re very excited about having the opportunity to work with All Corked Up to provide an upscale food and wine experience at the PAC,” said Michelle Razzano, owner of LA-Trends Gourmet Catering. “Now PAC patrons can enjoy light fare before the show or during intermission.”
