The Los Angeles County Arts Commission will be offering 74 paid summer internships to college undergraduates this summer, announced Fifth District Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
Interns are paid $350 per week for a ten-week program which provides undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and specific experience with nonprofit arts organizations.
Seventy-four organizations will be providing internships including two Newhall organizations: the Canyon Theatre Guild and Repertory East Playhouse.
Students eligibile for internship positions must be currently enrolled undergraduate college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 1, 2011 or will complete their undergraduate degree by September 1, 2011 in order to be eligible to participate.

Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as positions are posted as there is stiff competition for a limited number of internships.
