Safety to be highlighted on National Missing Children’s Day.

[view:node_ad=5]Mothers Against Sexual Predators of California (MASP of California) and the City of Santa Clarita will offer free child ID kits as part of National Missing Children’s Day and Take 25, a program designed to increase child safety awareness.  The kits as well as child safety tips will be delivered to the Newhall Community Center on Saturday, May 17th at 12:00noon.  They will be distributed free of charge through the end of the month. 

“It is important for parents and caregivers to begin talking to children about safety as early as possible,” said MASP of California co-founder Lena Smyth.  “This program is designed to begin that dialogue as well as continue it on a regular basis.”

“It is alarming to know that nearly 800,000 kids are reported missing each year” said Santa Clarita City Councilmember Laurie Ender.  “As a city and as a community it is imperative we do all that we can to help reduce that number.”

Take 25 is a safety campaign created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.   All of the materials will be available in English and Spanish.  The Newhall Community Center is located at 22421 Market Street .
