After a large number of complaints from residents, the Santa Clarita City Council has approved no-parking zones to be established along a section of Sierra Highway.

The section of Sierra Highway between Rainbow Glen and Friendly Valley will be designated a no-stopping zone. Reports of a high number of semi trucks parking on the side of the road prompted this change.

The two friends were clearing a path to go mountain biking when Chris was bitten by a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake. Timothy helped facilitate quick medical attention for his friend. Chris received 48 units of anti-venom and was treated at two hospitals, but his life was saved.

The City Council approved funding to put two new streetlights in town. The first will go on Soledad Canyon Road in front of Canyon CountryPark, and the second will be on Seco Canyon Road, just south of Copper Hill.
