The “In Memory of Paul Car Hangout’ is the first U.S. event sanctioned by the Walker family, and is set to bring people people together in memory of the late movie star.

“The car hangout in memory of Paul is such a great event because it will bring people together for a wonderful cause while they have a great time seeing all kinds of special, one-of-a-kind cars,” said Chris Lee, Santa Clarita-based entrepreneur and event organizer. “For a guy or girl who loves cars, and loves the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies, this is a dream come true.”

The proceeds from admissions and sponsorships for the event are set to go to Reach Out WorldWide, the nonprofit organization Paul Walker established in 2010 to aid first-responders when disaster strikes anywhere in the world, according to officials.

Paul Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, are scheduled to attend the event, as well as other “Fast & Furious” stars, celebrity actors, actresses and professional athletes, according to Lee.

The event is also set to feature Arnold Schwarzenegger’s famous Hummer, as well as other celebrity cars and cars built in Santa Clarita for the “Fast & Furious” movies, Lee said.

Walker and Roger Rodas were killed on Nov. 30, 2013, when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT Rodas was driving crashed on Hercules Drive in Valencia. Walker was in Santa Clarita for a fundraising event for Reach Out WorldWide. The seventh “Fast & Furious” film, which was in production when Walker died, was retooled and released in 2015.

The car show is set for Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at College of the Canyons’ Valencia campus.

The event is $5 for adults and free for kids. It costs $25 to enter a car in the show, and VIP tickets are also available starting at $250. As of the publication of this story, the event is open to more sponsors and vendors. For more information, click here.

  1. Keep his memory alive R.I.P. Paul Walker

  2. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about you, I know every movie and every detail. You are my hero!! I would give anything to be there to honor your friendship. I love you Paul!!! Breaks my heart to not be there.

  3. A movie that promotes street racing that has caused so many deaths. This is unimaginable and a stupid idea to promote this at a college fulll of young adults who are so impressionable. The irony of his death should be enough to stop people from street racing. Applaud to you College of the Canyons – Do you remember your students who were killed by a disaster caused from….street racing?!?

    • The Walker Foundation should contribute to campaigns to stop street racing. Unfortunately, Walker’s legacy is partly one of horrific death and horror. Dodge and the Fast & Furious have blood on their hands. Their commercials promote street raçing and now dangerous Street takeovers.

      • More sanctioned dragstrips where the kids can go and race legally would help way more than you realize! Can someone get behind that! NO!!! It is good and bad about everything in this world. Why is the solution always to stop? Sometimes what you think is the easy way out, isn’t! We need at least 20 new local Dragstrips in California!

    • Yes movies promote all sorts of evil including car racing glorification of guns, drugs, sex and violence. Just remember that they are fantasy not reality (You can usually tell when a bus goes flying through the air and Dom is riding it like a skateboard). It doesn’t mean you have to ban everything that is shown in them or that you have to stop riding large buses like a skateboard. If you’re children aren’t smart enough to know the difference then it’s on you to show them the way. I’ve seen every violent movie and played every GTA game available since I was 9 yet I have never gotten into a fist fight let alone murdered anyone with my car.

  4. THE FOLLOWERS OF THE FAST AND FURIOUS FRANCHISE ARE AS THOSE WITH A DISEASED WICKED MIND, A RELIGION OF DANGEROUS SELFISHNESS, CONTEMPT AND DISREGARD FOR OTHERS – THEY BOW TO THE EVIL TRINITY OF DODGE, VIN DEISEL AND THE FAST AND FURIOS FRANCHISE – It is a brotherhood of evil demons and other hell inspired cars ….. Police say the popularity of illegal racing has only increased amid movies like the”Fast and Furious” series and video games.
Even the death of “Fast and Furious” film star Paul Walker in a fiery crash in November 2014 appears to have done little to dampen enthusiasm for speed contests.
