Samuel Dixon Health Center to offer new services in a new location.
Beginning this Thursday Samuel Dixon Family Health Center’s (SDFHC) Newhall location will offer pediatric services to patients from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. For the past few years, these services had been available at the organization’s Canyon Country location. Pediatrician Patrick Robbie, MD, will also be moving to the new facilities at 23771 Newhall Avenue.
Formerly with Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Robbie was board-certified in pediatrics in 1964 and in neonatal/perinatal medicine in 1975. He received his medical degree from Marquette University School of Medicine in 1958.
“We have been thrilled to have Dr. Robbie’s services for our young patients for the past few years, and with his move to the Newhall Health Center, even more patients from our geographic triangle of care will be able to be served,” said Cheryl Laymon, executive director of SDFHC.
SDFHC operates three health centers in the Santa Clarita Valley-Canyon Country Health Center, Val Verde Health Center, and Newhall Health Center-as well as outreach sites at College of the Canyons and California Institute of the Arts. SDFHC offers a full range of healthcare services – physicals, immunizations and vaccines, screenings and diagnostic tests, well baby care, and family planning-to those who may not seek health care elsewhere. Patients pay based on their income. SDFHC provided 10,061 patient encounters in calendar year 2009.
