Conceived, written and produced by Peeples, the blog will anchor the new “Peeples Place at KHTS” section of the KHTS website at www.hometownstation.com/peeplesplace, also to be unveiled Aug. 5.

This will soon also serve as an interactive portal or hub for local musicians to submit content (videos, photos, text, events) directly to the portal to share with everyone.

The weekly blog will also be sent as an email newsletter to all subscribers who sign up for it on the KHTS website.

“Peeples Place at KHTS” will include an on-the-radio feature airing live during drive time each Thursday morning. The five-minute report will preview the blog set to premiere online the next morning, and spotlight entertainment events in the Santa Clarita Valley on the coming weekend.

The blog and portal will be supported and promoted by social media via Twitter accounts and a Facebook page to be launched Aug. 5.

A Santa Clarita Valley resident since 1988, Peeples is writer/co-producer/host of the popular weekly “House Blend” local music and interview TV show, which debuted on community channel SCVTV in fall 2010.

Peeples is also the award-winning former Online Editor and music columnist for the SCV Signal (2004-2006 and 2007-2011).

Previously, he was a Grammy-nominated record producer (“Monterey International Pop Festival,” 1992), award-winning radio writer-producer (“The Lost Lennon Tapes,” 1988-1990), and veteran record company executive (Capitol, Elektra/Asylum, Rhino, Warner Music Group, 1977-1997).

He also wrote, produced and hosted the weekly “Beatles Etc.” radio series on KHTS during summer and fall 2004.

“’Peeples Place at KHTS’ allows me to finally combine my passion for music and promoting the local music scene with my background in print, radio, records, TV, the Web and social media in a single project,” Peeples said. “It’s great to partner on this venture with my friends at KHTS and their award-winning website at hometownstation.com.  I look forward to providing local artists a new level of exposure in the SCV and beyond.”

“Almost everyone who has anything to do with music in the Santa Clarita Valley knows and respects Stephen,” said Carl Goldman, KHTS-AM 1220 co-owner. “His extensive contacts in local music and entertainment will ensure a constant flow of fresh, compelling content to ‘Peeples Place at KHTS.'”
