“The gala is a lot of fun,” said SCVPA president David Green, “but the judging is amazing. We always learn so much from what they have to say about our images.”
The clubhouse is located at 27002 Edgewater Lane in Valencia. Photographers may submit up to five prints in any of eight categories: 1) Portrait; 2) Animals; 3) Photojournalism, Event & Editorial; 4) Landscape; 5) Nature; 6) Macro & Close-up; 7) Design, Architectural, Still Life & Fine Art; 8) Digital Manipulation and “Freestyle” (Photoshop).
Complete rules and entry forms can be obtained at the Association’s website at www.scvphotographers.com.
Images may be submitted between 10am, Saturday, May 7, and 5pm, Monday, May 16, at Santa Clarita Camera, 21515 Soledad Canyon Rd., #116. The entry fee is $20 for members, $30 for non-members and $5 for full-time students up to age 18.
“It amazes me how much better the entries are from year to year,” Green said. “It seems we always get a new crop of photographers who raise the bar on the quality, composition and processing of the images. I’m really looking forward to seeing what is entered this year.”
