Pinecrest Kids Get Treat from CHP

Friday afternoon at Pinecrest Elementary school in Valencia was a special day for students who donated over 725 toys to the CHP Toy Drive. The large number is surprising given that the school itself is relatively small.

The CHP and their mascot, CHiPper the chipmunk, arrived with sirens blaring to pick up the toys with the help of a large Caltrans truck.

In addition to the toys, staff and faculty at Pinecrest donated money to buy five bicycles that were also donated.
Patrolman John Lutz thanked the kids, and made them take an oath to always wear their seatbelts.
