Placerita Canyon Nature Center will kick off its new Reptile Club on Sunday, June 19th from 1 to 3 pm. The club will meet the third Sunday of the month and is for ages 7 to 17. Ages 7-12 will meet from 1pm to 2pm and ages 13-17 will meet from 2pm to 3pm. Call the Nature Center at 661-259-7721 for more information.
There will be live animal displays and a reptile related topic during each class. Students can bring in their own reptile pets to talk about. Topics will include native reptiles and amphibians, pythons and boas, colubrid snakes, lizards, turtles and tortoises, crocodiles and alligators, rattlesnakes and pit vipers, venomous animals, care of captive reptiles and amphibians, reptiles diseases in captivity, conservation, and reptiles of other countries.
The club is sponsored by Pet Adventure of Canyon Country. There is no charge for this event. Placerita Canyon Nature Center is located at 19152 Placerita Canyon Road.
