Tire problem forces plane to make emergency landing.
UPDATE: 12:55 p.m.
[view:node_ad=5]Emergency crews were staging at Los Angeles airport after American Airlines flight 1586 reported a blown front nose tire Tuesday afternoon.
UPDATE: The plane landed safely at LAX just after 12:45 p.m.
The plane circled the skies to burn up as much fuel as possible before attempting the emergency landing, which is standard operating procedure according to FAA officials.
150 people were on board the plane.
Original reports indicated that the problem was related to a front nose tire blowout. Those reports proved to be false, as the problem was found to involve a large rear tire.
