[view:node_ad=5]The City of Santa Clarita
invites local residents to ring in the New Year at the 3rd annual Glacier Slide
Polar Bear Swim on January 1, 2009
at the Aquatic Center Waterslide Pool. For $5, guests can enjoy this new local
tradition and take home a limited edition Polar Bear Club beanie.
The Aquatic Center's doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and
attendees should be ready to take the public polar bear plunge into chilly
waters at 9 a.m. Coffee, donuts and heaters will be provided for local guests
to warm up after making a splash, as the pool will not be open for recreational
swimming.
"The Glacier Slide Polar Bear Swim promises to be an
enjoyable experience for the entire family. Come out and join the Santa Clarita
Aquatics Center in celebrating the New Year with a new tradition," commented
Mayor Pro-Tem Laurene Weste.
Santa Clarita's Aquatic
Center is located at 20850
Centre Pointe Parkway. For additional information
