On Thursday, Hill sent a letter to the freshman class of the 116th Congress, co-signed by Congressman-elect Mike Levin, D-San Diego, calling for “bold” leadership for the Democratic Party.

“During this turbulent time in our nation’s history, no one is better prepared to lead a diverse Democratic Caucus,” they wrote. “We need her stability, vision and strength. Let’s unite. Let’s move forward. Let’s make change happen, together.”

During a closed door meeting this week with the incoming freshman class, Hill spoke out against an attempt to advance a rule change that could help members of the party who do not want Pelosi to become speaker.

“After a hard-fought election season, we need to hit the ground running on day one to ensure the communities we represent have health care they can afford and a government who is working for them. That’s why I support Leader Pelosi for speaker,” said Hill.

The congresswoman-elect noted both her and Levin ran a campaign of “change,” but need to become leaders in the party to “not only deliver results, but change politics as usual.”

“We don’t have time for internal squabbling,” Hill said. “We have to get things done.”

  1. No we do not support the affordable care act, we should not be forced into health care . No we do not support Nancy Pelosi and no we do not support your public bisexual lifestyle. Who voted for this chic she does not sound like our Good old American SCV.

  2. The beginning starts Viva homosexuality.

  3. Geez, the same old, “Hit the ground running” do you know what happens if you were to do that…you’d fall on your face.

  4. of course she would support Nancy Pelosi, who do you think paid for all those ads…..very disappointed

  5. As a Katie Hill voter, I’m okay with her decision. It’s a hard call, and she’s making it. It’s sad to see the anti-homosexual comments in this thread. It seems to me that Katie Hill has her eye on the ball, focused on the right things. Good for her. I’ll be looking forward to seeing if she grows into an influential congresswoman. There will be about 120 women in the new Congress–a record number. I want them to maintain checks and balances on the autocratic Trump, keeping him in his lane, constitutionally.

  6. You still obtain the Surprise without the extra POW.

  7. Nancy and Katie seem to get along really well ?
