Jesus Henao Announces Candidacy For Saugus Union School District Board Of Trustees

Long-time Santa Clarita businessman and former veteran pledges strong stand on school safety and more teacher empowerment.

Santa Clarita real estate investment broker, Jesus Henao is thrilled to announce his candidacy for the Saugus Union School District Board Of Trustees, running in the Trustee Area 1 seat being left vacant with the announced retirement of Paul De La Cerda.

“Jesus is passionate about the kids in our valley,” shared KHTS owner Jeri Seratti-Goldman. “He’s smart, energetic and brings a vision that will be a terrific balance to the current school board. Jesus has so many attributes. He’s a former marine, serving in the Persian Gulf War, a very successful Santa Clarita businessman and he has kids who have matriculated through the Saugus district and graduated from the William S. Hart schools. Those attributes give him a unique perspective.”

Henao is a commercial real estate investment broker who has successfully negotiated and transacted over $200 Million worth of investment properties. At the age of 20, Henao lead a twelve-man artillery section in Desert Shield and Desert Storm Persian Gulf Wars. He lives in Valencia with his wife, Carolina and three children, all products of Santa Clarita public schools.

“Our school system is already stellar,” stated Jesus Henao, “I believe I can raise the bar even further with my experience and leadership. I will be focusing on seven key goals to take us to the next level; child campus safety, further teacher empowerment, preventative drug & alcohol education, continued advancements in technology for higher learning, cyber safety, upgrading our learning facilities, and better teamwork and accountability for our District. I also believe honesty and integrity are critical when representing our schools.”

Jesus is impressive, shared long-time Santa Clarita resident Kathy Kellar and wife of City Councilmember, Bob Kellar. “Keeping our Santa Schools at the high academic level they already offer is our number one priority. I believe Jesus’s leadership and honorable background will be a tremendous asset to the Saugus board.”

Jesus’ passion for kids is prevalent in so many ways, whether mentoring his own children, coaching football, or serving the youth of his church.  He is dependable, resourceful and a man of integrity  I believe Jesus will be a tremendous addition to the Saugus School Board.

In addition to his successful real estate business, Jesus Henao also presides over a local Latino congregation of Latter-day Saints serving as the Branch President. He has served as the offensive coordinator of the West Ranch High School freshman football team. He also was a Pop Warner Football coach for 6 years.

He currently hosts a weekly radio program on KHTS, the Commercial Real Estate Hour and serves on the Board of the Real Estate Department at College of the Canyons.
