The California political leaders joined Congressional candidate Katie Hill and Assembly candidate Christy Smith in the Newhall Family Theatre energizing the packed room to rally voters in an area where Democrats are hoping to flip both state and federal offices.

“We have a whole lot of work to do these next few days, and there is so much at stake,” Harris said. “We need to fight for the best of who we are.”

Right after the U.S. Senator and Gubernatorial candidate spoke, attendees were encouraged to sign up to canvas in one of the most contested districts in the country.

“The world is looking to California at this moment to make the right decision,” said Newsom. “We are the most diverse state in the most diverse democracy in the world, California celebrates that diversity.”

Newsom was joined on stage by members of his family, who encouraged women to get involved in the political process.

“We have seen a fierce resurgence in the women movement,” said Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the Lt. Governor’s wife. “We have seen the people in the room and all over to step up and step in and demand change.”

The rally focused on two local Democratic candidates in highly watched races — targeted by both parties — which could impact the future of both the state and country as a whole.

Hill is running against the incumbent, Congressman Steve Knight, and polls show the race could go either way.

“We are making sure every person knows they have a voice, knows their vote matters,” Hill said. “It is time for us to make sure this ‘wake up call’ sustains. No matter what happens, this is just the beginning of the fight.”

Smith is challenging Dante Acosta, for the second time after trailing in the 2016 election, hoping to unseat the one-term Assemblyman.

“This moment is bigger than any one of us,” Smith said. “This is our moment, to demonstrate to California — and have California demonstrate to the country — we vote our values.”

The rally packed the Newhall Family Theatre to capacity, with even more residents outside, hoping to see Newsom as he entered in his campaign bus.

After the event, hundreds signed up to knock on doors throughout the Santa Clarita Valley as part of several rallies across the district.

“The vast majority of us have more in common than what separates us,” said Harris. “There is so much to fight for, and we are prepared.”

  1. You’ll be poorer than You are now when these communists are elected.

  2. I don’t answer my door for socialists.

  3. Please vote Red – John Cox, Dante Acosta and Steve Knight especially if you moved to Santa Clarita to get out of the bad environments that you came from. The Democrats are planning on ruining our state further and we can not let the lies and twisted untruthful ads infect our city. Thank you!

  4. Go away! We want more responsible and trustworthy people. Kamala can go and get some more false allegations on Kavanaugh. Unfortunately, this state is pretty much drugged up on pot and other drugs and dependent on the state for some kind of money, who else do you think they will vote for? But we must vote in order to keep the House and the Senate! Go vote people of common sense.

  5. Newsom is related to Diane Feinstein . They all believe in more taxes so the money can be spent on entitlements. That is where they get the votes. Vote for vets and law enforcement experience candidates.

  6. Poor California, we are so screwed. Used to be the best place to live.

  7. I attended this event, and it was thrilling! I will be voting for all of them. California will continue being blue.
