Katie Hill Narrowly Tops Congressman Knight In Funds Raised During Final 2017 Quarter

Democratic candidate Katie Hill narrowly out-raised Congressman Steve Knight, R-Santa Clarita, in the last three months of 2017, with other candidates close in line to the incumbent.

Hill reported raising $252,351 in the last months of the past year, to start 2018 with $382,848 in the war chest, according to Federal Elections Commission filings.

Congressman Knight was only slightly behind, raising $240,244. He has existing funds from previous campaigns and has large lead with $794,748 in total.

Knight’s 2016 challenger, Bryan Caforio, raised $211,497 in the quarter, with $377,203 in the bank, according to the FEC.

This is the second quarter Knight has been out-raised by one opponent. The top-earners were flipped in the previous filings, with Caforio topping Knight and Hill coming in third.

Jess Phoenix is fourth in line with money raised, with $110,000 cash on hand, according to the FEC.

Other challengers to Steve Knight’s Congressional seat have not topped the $100,000 mark.
