The Final Tract Map for the Needham Ranch Project is set to be approved by the City Council. The project, which was originally approved in June of 2003, will create a commercial park west of Sierra Highway and south of Newhall Avenue, according to city officials

The Santa Clarita City Council will also discuss the demolition of city property in order to make room for a new Canyon Country Community Center. The proposal would appropriate $350,000 to demolish three buildings off of Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road, officials stated.

The council is also set to approve $17 million of spending on the installation of streetlights for Santa Clarita. The council would need to approve an Indenture, an Installment Purchase Agreement, a Bond Purchase Agreement, a Preliminary Official Statement and a Final Official Statement, according to officials.

The Santa Clarita City Council will also address the Dockweiler/Lyons Extension Project. The council is set to certify the Final Environmental Impact Report that was prepared for the project, as well as approve the alignment of the Dockweiler Drive Extension as described in the report, according to city officials.

The project would align Dockweiler Drive with 13th Street/Arch Street at Lyons Avenue without an at-grade rail crossing, and would require improvements be made to the rail crossing at 13th Street, city officials stated.

The council is also set to provide a contract of $50,000 to Analytic Insight in order to develop a plan to combat and prevent homelessness, according to officials.

  1. The Needhan Ranch project is waiting to be approved?? Then why have bulldozers and other heavy equipment been excavating the property for the last two months if it had not yet been approved?
And where are the street lights going to be?
